Will you set my stone?

We are a jewelry brand, and we do not consider ourselves your standard jeweler with a shop and a service center. Our purpose is to offer unique stones and special settings for them. Midwinter Co. is not a local jeweler. We cannot and will not set your stone.

Can you send me a setting for my own stone?

This is a tricky situation. You must understand that our work is our brand. Anything outside of what we offer voids our normal policies. It may be possible, if you agree to these unique policies for this situation:

  • 1. If your jeweler cannot set the stone due to the ring not fitting your stone, we are not responsible for replacement or exchange. We make the ring for only the specifications you give us, and after that, it's out of our hands and no longer our work.
  • 2. If your jeweler damages the setting when the jeweler works on it, we are not responsible for the issue, breakage, loss, or repairs.
  • 3. For your own stone and Midwinter co. setting, there is no warranty for repairs or issues.
  • 4. When we send you only the setting, it is a final sale with no returns, refunds, or exchanges.


Do you offer a warranty?

Under $1500 - Free for the first 6 months, and flat fees will apply for next 4.5 years $5-25 depending on metal. Missing stones diamonds will not be replaced for free,  but we offer the stone replacement with zero profit, giving you the best possible deal.

Over $1500 - Free repairs for 5 years. Missing stones diamonds will not be replaced for free,  but we offer the stone replacement with zero profit, giving you the best possible deal.

Do you have a retail location to view your jewelry?

We do not pre-make jewelry. Every item is custom made or made to order, and therefore have no jewelry available in retail location. Maybe someday!


I live close by, can I pick up?

Although we have many local clients, we prefer that you allow us to ship. This is our private home, and shipping and delivery confirms that you received your item - PayPal does not cover us if we allow a pick-up. We only allow friends to pick up their jewelry.


Do you ever offer coupon codes or discounts?

Yes. Loyal customers, newsletter subscribers, and followers on our social media accounts are given unique codes from time to time. Check out our facebook | instagram | or sign up for our newsletter!


How do I care for my jewelry?

To best avoid any of the residue buildup that comes with regular wear, you can clean your jewelry regularly at home with warm water, gentle soap, and a toothbrush.  

To maintain the quality of your jewelry, remove before showering, gardening, using cleaning chemicals, applying makeup and lotions, swimming, and exercising. Exposure to any harsh chemicals or heavy pressure will put your jewelry at risk.

Store your jewelry in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box away from touching other jewelry.


My oxidation wore off. Why? And, what can I do to re-oxidize it?

Oxidation is an overlay on your sterling silver. It can come off if you use chemicals at home without removing (ie: showering, doing dishes or using cleaning supplies, etc.), with normal wear over time, and/or if your body chemistry affects the coating. Some people cannot keep silver clean and bright and it needs to be cleaned often, while other people tend to self-clean their jewelry and have to re-oxidize when they want oxidized jewelry. It depends on many factors.

To re-oxidize, you can purchase Jax Silver Blackener and do so at home. Please follow directions carefully:

Directions
Metal must be clean and free of lacquer, oil, grease or wax. To apply, either brush solution on with a bristle brush or dip entire object in solution, avoiding the solution touching your skin. Rinse well with water and dry. 


What is your turnaround time?

Since every piece is made to order, turn around time varies. On retail items, likely 2-10 days, and for custom it can be 2 days to 6 weeks.
